Organic Jewellery Design with the EinScan Rigil
Organic shapes and natural textures can be difficult to replicate digitally, which is why 3D scanning is such a powerful tool in creative workflows. In this project, we explore how Shining 3D’s EinScan Rigil can capture the detail of a tree trunk and transfer it seamlessly into a sculpted jewellery piece. By scanning objects from meaningful places, this workflow can also be used to create highly personal, one of a kind designs.
In the video below, Rob walks through a complete scan to sculpt workflow. A section of a tree trunk is captured using the EinScan Rigil, meshed on device and uploaded to EXModel for optimisation. The cleaned STL is then taken into Nomad Sculpt, where the natural texture is wrapped around a ring design. This approach not only preserves the character of the original surface but also offers a unique way to craft jewellery with emotional significance from locations, moments or objects that matter.
About the EinScan Rigil
The EinScan Rigil is a tri mode 3D scanner designed for fast, accurate capture in a wide range of environments. Its hybrid light system, which combines blue laser lines with VCSEL infrared, performs well on both natural textures and manufactured parts.
